Where can you ride an e-bike in Winnipeg?
Winnipeg has few e-bike-specific local rules yet: when Manitoba passed Bill 43 on June 1, 2026, the City said it was working out what bylaw changes make sense, and in the meantime it asks e-bike riders to slow down and watch for people when passing on pathways. Winnipeg Transit puts two-bike racks on select buses, mostly on the BLUE rapid transit line, only in spring, summer and fall, and its bike page doesn't mention e-bikes. E-bikes may be parked on sidewalks if they don't block people walking, and bicycles are not allowed inside the Assiniboine Park Zoo or The Leaf.

| Agency | Rule | Season | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Winnipeg Transit (bus bike racks) | Select buses carry a front rack for two bikes, first come, first served, at no extra cost. Buses with racks go first to the BLUE rapid transit line, then to other routes; the Winnipeg Transit app shows which trips have a rack. The operator can refuse a bike that doesn't fit the rack or blocks the driver's view. The page does not mention e-bikes. | Spring, summer and fall only (the Rapid Transit project page lists the racks as May 1 to October 31) | Bike & Bus (Winnipeg Transit), Internet Archive copy of 2026-08-19, City of Winnipeg, checked Active Transportation (Rapid Transit project), Internet Archive copy of 2025-12-07, Winnipeg Transit, checked |

In the meantime it asks e-bike and e-scooter riders to watch for pedestrians and cyclists on pathways, slow down when passing, ride defensively and wear a helmet.
