About Zeus E-Bike Map
Zeus E-Bike Map shows, on a map of Canada and city by city, where you can and can't ride an e-bike: on transit, on city paths and in parks, and on trails. It covers 21 cities so far.
Who publishes it
The map is published by Zeus Ebikes Inc., which runs zeusebikes.ca. Zeus Ebikes is an online e-bike retailer with a mailing address in Toronto, Ontario, and it started selling e-bikes in Waterloo, Ontario, in April 2023.
Zeus Ebikes sells e-bikes. This map does not say whether any particular e-bike, including the ones Zeus sells, may be ridden on a given road, path or trail: that depends on the e-bike and on the rules where you ride. Check both before you ride.
How the rules are researched
- Every rule comes from a source we opened and read, official sources first: the city, the transit agency, the parks authority, Parks Canada or the provincial trail body.
- Every rule on the site links to its source and shows the date we checked it.
- A trail is listed only when an official page states the e-bike rule for that trail or trail system. Map positions come from OpenStreetMap or the official page.
- We don't guess. When we could not confirm something, the city page says so under "What we could not confirm yet", with where to check.
- Province-wide e-bike law (watts, speed, age, helmet) is not on this site. It is on our sister site, ebikelaws.ca, and each city page links to its province there.
How it is kept up to date
Rules change: transit agencies update their bike policies, cities pass new bylaws and parks change trail rules. Each city page shows the date its sources were last checked, and each rule shows the date of its own source. When a source changes, we re-check it and update the page.
Report a wrong or outdated rule
If a rule on this map is wrong or out of date, please tell us through the Zeus Ebikes contact page. Include the page, the rule, and a link to the official source that shows the change.
Not legal advice
This site is general information, not legal advice. Rules can differ by place, season and type of e-bike, and signs on the ground can be more specific than any web page. Always check the official source before you ride.
