Where can you ride an e-bike in Kelowna?
Kelowna's 35+ km of paved shared-use pathways are open to e-bikes, and the Okanagan Rail Trail to e-bikes that meet BC's motor assisted cycle rules; bikes with gas engines are banned from the rail trail and cyclists may not ride on sidewalks. What we could not confirm yet
- kelowna.ca blocks automated access, so the City pages were read from Internet Archive copies (Okanagan Rail Trail Feb 1, 2026; Bike routes & safety Jan 9, 2026; Shared bikes Feb 6, 2026; Traffic Bylaw Part 9 Sept 7, 2025). Check the live pages for changes.
- The City's Parks and Public Spaces Bylaw No. 10680 could not be read (archived copy incomplete), so City park rules for e-bikes (e.g. City Park, the waterfront walkways, Knox Mountain trails) are unknown; check kelowna.ca.
- The Traffic Bylaw's sidewalk rule speaks of 'cycles'; the bylaw's definitions section, which would confirm that e-bikes count as cycles, was not read.
